Elopement? Micro Wedding?

pittsburgh(ish) micro wedding photographer

What are we even doing, technically? Well… who the hell cares?

I’m not the word police. These are the kind of gatherings I specialize in, whatever you want to call them. So for my purposes, I use them interchangeably. And for yours, elopement or micro wedding pricing is all the same. Whether it’s just the two of you, ten of your nearest and dearest, or fifty of your somewhat less near but still dear friends and family.

Getting legally married in Pennsylvania only requires a marriage license and the two of you. Every other detail can be whatever you want it to be. Opt out of the stress of perfect and embrace a day that reflects what you love. Have some damn fun!

You’re here for meaning over tradition, and having an intimate, intentional experience for your wedding day, not a whirlwind of crowds and deadlines. You march to the beat of your own drummer, or maybe you’d prefer a flute quartet instead. You embrace the weird, the non-traditional, the things that make your heart sing, even if nobody else gets it. I’m here for it, too.

Non-traditional is my jam, and your wedding, or micro wedding, or elopement is about you and the things you value, not me and my portfolio. You want someone who gets you and your vision, and I can’t wait to hear about it.

the experience

What do you get when working with me? Whether you’ve decided on calling it a micro wedding or an elopement, you’ll get the same dedication to storytelling and experience.

Lo-fi grain on black and whites, joyful candids, true colors both visually and metaphorically. Film look, without the film cost. Documentary-forward process with cinematic results. I know when to step in to make magic, and when to step back and let it happen. I’ll give enough direction to help you look your absolute best, but still feel like yourself.
Introverts are welcome here.

I love the great outdoors, and I’m super at home figuring out oddball locations. I’ve photographed weddings on mountains and in bank vaults, in backyards and concert venues, self-solemnized ceremonies and mini parties. Anything can be an adventure, if you look at it in the right light. Think your ideas might be too weird? I’ve photographed
GWAR, you can not scare me.

you’re in the right place if…

  • A couple holding hands during a wedding ceremony outdoors, with a woman officiant reading from a book nearby. Elopement in Racoon Creek State Park, PA

you totally don’t care about what a wedding is supposed to be, and are just gonna get married however the hell you want to.

  • Two women wearing white dresses and black leather jackets are holding cigars. One woman is lighting her cigar, while the other is smiling and looking at her cigar. LGBT wedding at The Pump House.

you’d rather capture spontaneous, honest, imperfect moments than fashion magazine style

  • Queer bride and groom dancing and drinking at their wedding reception surrounded by guests in an elegant venue. Hotel Morgan wedding in West Virginia.

you want a relaxed, laid-back micro wedding day, where you get to have fun.

  • A large group of people in formal and semi-formal attire celebrating on a rooftop with a cityscape and a river in the background, some raising their arms and cheering. Photo of all the guests at a West End Overlook elopement in Pittsburgh.

you’re up for a little adventure, and maybe a little exploring weird spaces for portraits

  • Dog lying down on a shiny marble floor during a wedding ceremony, decorated with a floral collar, in front of the officiant and wedding couple, surrounded by seated guests. LGBT wedding at Hotel Morgan in West Virginia.

you’re excited to share your day with the people (and sometimes dogs) you love most, because a family can be whatever you make it.

  • A couple shares a romantic kiss in a forested area, with the woman dressed in a sheer, embroidered dress and the man in a black suit. Elopement at Stonebridge.

you want your photos to not just reflect how you looked, but how your day felt. to tell the whole story.
